Character, Conduct & Consent: Student-Athlete Leadership Training
Building Champions On and Off the Field
This specialized training, designed for intercollegiate student-athletes, focuses on the essential pillars of character development, behavioral conduct, and Title IX awareness. Student-athletes represent more than just their teams—they are leaders, role models, and ambassadors of their
institutions. This session empowers them to uphold integrity in competition, in the classroom, and in campus life.
Led by Dr. Armando Ponce, a seasoned Executive Athletic Director, Student Conduct Officer, and Title IX Investigator, this training draws from over two decades of higher education leadership in athletics, student development, and behavioral intervention. Dr. Ponce provides real-world insights into the student code of conduct, Title IX responsibilities, and the personal and legal consequences of poor decision-making—while inspiring athletes to lead with purpose, respect, and accountability.
Topics include:
· The role of character in athletic and academic success
· Navigating the student code of conduct and institutional policies
· Title IX, consent, and creating a culture of respect
· Social media and reputation management
· The student-athlete as a leader on campus
Outcome: Athletes will leave with a stronger understanding of their responsibilities, rights, and the power of their influence as student leaders—ready to represent their teams with honor and lead with integrity.
